Roles & Responsibilities:

The Challenge
eBay needed to evolve from a purely transactional marketplace into a brand that celebrated culture, community, and belonging.

The Solution
A groundbreaking series of digital shorts brought the eBay experience to life, showcasing the unique spirit of its community and positioning eBay as a pioneer in brand storytelling online.

I contributed to the creation of these early webisodes, which became some of the first films produced by a global brand for the digital space. Each story tapped into eBay’s sense of magic and interconnectedness, earning recognition across culture and festivals. Highlights included Force 1 TD, the tale of a visually impaired teen and his miniature guide horse Carmine, which was an official selection at Sundance, alongside shorts like Standard King, Tobias_427, Lifesize, Saturday Afternoon Fever, and The Circus. Collectively, they cemented eBay’s role as a cultural brand ahead of its time.

Team: CAA Marketing Department

  1. Force 1 TD: Three friends set off on a quest to find the perfect sneakers for Carmine, a miniature guide horse with a big day ahead. Official selection of The Sundance Film Festival

  2. Tobias_427: A dorky teen thinks life has finally turned around when he makes a blood pact with a ninja he bought online. Turns out, it’s not that simple.

  3. Standard King: A washed-up mattress salesman reinvents himself with a little help from eBay and Mr. Fantastic’s Fabulous Shapeshifting Formula.

  4. Saturday Afternoon Fever: What starts as an ordinary weekend afternoon spirals into a disco-lit fantasy of love, magic carpets, and mythical creatures.

  5. Lifesize: To the disbelief of her family, a Spanish grandmother decides to spend her final days as none other than Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots.

  6. The Circus: Step inside a miniature big top, where the life of a tiny ringmaster proves to be anything but small.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Challenge
After the success of its first webisodes, “eBaysodes,” eBay needed to sustain momentum and strengthen its position as a leader in digital storytelling.

The Solution
A new series of webisodes starring Andy Richter and Paul F. Tompkins as over-the-top motivational speakers delivered the “Seven Principles of Winning,” blending humor with brand narrative to keep audiences engaged.

I collaborated on the creation of this follow up series during the early stages of eBay’s brand transformation, helping set a new standard for its digital storytelling. The work became one of eBay’s first major activations in this space, reinforcing the shift toward a brand-led network and laying the foundation for future campaigns.
